   firstly, thank you for your review! i loved it and i really appreciate it :)

   layout:

   the first that caught my eye is the header. it looks weird to me, but the idea is lovely. you probably drew it by hand, didn't you? :) it doesn't really fit with the rest of the site, but the smiling sun really made me smile :)

   other than that, i like the colors you used. i'm not a big fan of pink, but the way you used it combined with grey and white, it just looks natural. i also like the small leaves (or whatever) you have in your column next to the links.
   your posts are easily readable and, but if i were you, i would center a video i embed from youtube ;)

   content:

   i really like your "about" section (you don't like snow and live in canada? oh god, that probably sucks pretty much)
   i really like your portfolio also - you draw really well :)
   i also checked your past layouts and oh god, you had so many of them :D i bet i would love the unique and burned ones, and i just saw the headers!

   overall:

   i think the layout is not one of your best (judging by the peeks i had at the previous ones), but it's still pleasant to my eyes. i can't really say anything bad about, even though it's not exactly my cup of tea. i also really like your content - you have everything good personal site needs - you have you "dairy-kinda-stuff", you have your own portfolio full of nice drawings and you have the amazing site info. maybe i should do something like that too - the "behind the name" section really caught my eye.

   your site is really, REALLY amazing, keep the good work up!

   Layout: I like the background of your header. It's a really nice pattern. :) Your header is different from regular kinds of header, but it's very nice. It looks like something you would do with magazines (cut and paste into a nice collage). I really like the color you picked (pink is my favorite color).

   Sidebar: Your sidebar should be moved a little upper to be align with your blog. It will be better this way. And maybe you can add a border around your whole navigation box (if possible)? The width of your other headers and content in your sidebar would look better if it's the same width with your navigation. Right now it is slightly smaller and it looks weird and out of place.

   Content: Your links and pages look well organized and that's good. Your work is amazingly nice! :) Continue the good work!

   Blog: You should make your date header a little smaller than your blog header because it looks kind of weird when they're both the same size.

   Anyway, onto the review.

   The shade of pink you've selected works well, and overall the layout shows promise. I like the style you've adopted for the header image, but I don't think it complements the rest of the layout. It seems 'tacked on' to the pretty background, and doesn't fit in because there is hardly any pink in it, and the focal point is unclear; the eye is unsure where to rest when viewing it. You could make the letters spelling out the title on the image larger to solve this problem.

   Also you need a link back to the homepage! I think this is quite important. Maybe you have one already, but I couldn't find it.

   The design otherwise is fantastic. Nice colours, font choices, etc. I'd recommend making the background of the search box slightly darker though, because on my light screen especially it blends in with the white too much, and styling the font inside the textarea to match the rest of the site -- right now it's just default.

   Your about page is fine with just the right amount of information. Furthermore, I was really impressed by the examples of your work. You're incredibly talented! Also is your Links page worth keeping? It just repeats some of the content of your sidebar with the additions of credits and a link to apply to be an affiliate You could move the credits to the Site Information section, put the link in the sidebar, and then delete the Links page entirely.

   Also you could remove the Previous link on each page, since most people probably would just use their browser button.

   Overall, this is a great site and venue to showcase your work. I've suggested just a few minor adjustments here and there to improve it. Keep up the good work :)

   Pink! I love pink! And it's not entirely bad. Your little sketchy header isn't bad either. But together? No, especially with the rosy header background. Stick with one or the other.

   It's rare that a serif font works for anyone as a main text. And it definitely works here. It's the sketchy header that throws this whole thing off.

   Make your navigation stand out more. In fact, it might benefit from being on top, as opposed to the side.

   Blog and Sidebar

   Widen the sidebar more. There's an unwritten rule about sidebars being at least 200px. This can benefit from being bigger.

   If you insist on keeping the sidebar navigation, then you need more padding with it and change the color of the hover since it's hard to read. How about a darker pink.

   Now, while the serif font somehow works here, it's still a bit smushed. You need some padding there as well. I would start with 15px and see how that works. The line height is all right, but it can be widened a little more as well.

   I saw something in your comments page. Your comment background isn't white along with the rest of the blog space.

   The other pages

   You need a home link so that your visitors can come back to your main page.

   About: Nice! Paragraphs! But it's smushed. Instead of using <br /> tags, use <p> tags. You don't need that "previous" link. All of us can use our browser buttons.

   Links: Everything is in working order, other than the lack of padding.

   Portfolio: Yes! You can have easily had this section with just links, but you added a description! Excellent!

   I like some of your stuff. I love the flower ones and the elephant on a paper towel. That is wicked! Check some of your thumbnails--some of them don't seem work. Your first animal picture doesn't come up in Lightbox. And that tree is freaky looking!!

   Site info: Normal stuff here.

   Coding

   Your site doesn't validate. You have 76 errors, and when I saw your source I saw one immediately. This:

   <div id="line"><div id="head"></div></div>

   shouldn't be in your <head> section. Divs are never to be in that section. With that being said, that's gonna knock most of your errors off. Your coding is bloated with divs. You have way too many divs. When you make your next layout, make sure you get rid of at least 5 of those. Something as simple as this one shouldn't have so many of them things.

   Don't forget that in XHTML <img> tags need ending slashes. And so do <br /> tags. Watch your end tags. You have a closing div to one that isn't even open.

   All in all...

   Your sketchy header is cute. The color scheme is cute. But both of them together, isn't. Stick with one or the other.

   You have a good site here. In fact, other than your code, you did a great job here. Clean up your code, and good luck!
