This is just a quick, basic portfolio. I do small bits of freelance work, but mainly it's a jumping off point to build my school portfolio. Hopefully, over the next two years, it will morph into something that really stands out, but first it needs a nice foundation, which is where your constructive criticism comes in!

Hi Aisling! First of all, I absolutely love this layout! It's very pleasing to the eyes; it's very readable; it's funky; and most importantly, it's YOU. I love how you use contrast in catching the viewer's eye, especially with the pink and blue contrasting with the grey. I, myself, am a fan of contrasting bright, bold colors with grey.

I only have one issue with this layout though, I'm quite uncomfortable with the sidebar headings overlapping the 'content box'. Is it really supposed to be that way or is Firefox just shitting me up?

Anyway, I like your "About Me" in the sidebar. I think it has a lot of personality and shows who you really are. Plus, you sound so nice in it, which is a good sign for potential customer (not that you're evil in any way :P).

I think I'm done. There's nothing really much to review here. Overall? Very good. :D

First Impression: Love the simplicity and the bold colors!

Second look: That body font is kind of large...

I am really loving the colors you chose for this design. You keep it simple and that gives your portfolio a bit of elegance. However, the size of the font in your body is rather large - if you make it smaller so that the information for each project lines up right next to it, it would increase your simplistic approach AND keep things organized. If you're worried about usability, don't be - that's the reason you have your fonts set to em. They can be changed easily by the reader if they need a larger font. Make them smaller to begin with to improve the look of the site. The same goes with the text on the sidebar - it can be bigger than the body, but not as big as it is now. It overruns the page.

Last few words: As a one-page portfolio, this is really nicely put together. I admire the concept of a two column design you have going. I would suggest trying out a javascript such as lightbox or thickbox for your portfolio so your readers can open it up in a slideshow format. It would be a nice little trick.

As a side note, I love the design you have for Dreamling.ca. It's great!

Hi, I will be doing a short little review of your site.
    Layout:
I really like this layout but, the text is a little big for me. I don't know if its my computer, but, It looks just a little to big. I'm not saying to cut off 10px's but, maybe a little smaller?

    Portfolio:

http://leatherpocket.org/ Is probable my favorite out of all of them.

    http://lyndsey.ca/ is not opening :(

and the rest are good as well.
    (I also love Dreamling.ca Version 1!)

So, all the advice I would give you is to change up the colors in your layout like some of the ones in your portfolio, and Make that text size a wee bit shorter.

First Impression: I like the rich colors together. Hey, looks like some of your side navigation headers were cut off.

Content: The only content I see are your works. Even as a portfolio, you should include more about yourself than the 200 words you have in the sidebar.
You should also have links to your services that you have that display what you can do. You have proven yourself to be able to do layout design, but to have
a page for each section will make you look very versatile as a web and graphic designer.

Coding: Your site checks out with HTML 4.01 Strict. Good Job. I do thought suggest you fix the headers in your side navigations.

Design: I like the background color scheme. However, I am not so sure on the navigation background areas to have the same pattern as the stripes behind it.
It is missing something to make it pop! Perhaps make those solid or another color, like a light marigold and the header be an image. The top image does not
really pop and brings nothing to the layout. Perhaps something different. You can still have your name, but that blue and vivid red do not mix well.

I am sure you can come up with something. Perhaps instead of a crude heart, you can have a vector built with gradients or a vector with a light overlay to
give it a Web 2.0 graphic flavor. It is up to you, but right now, it is missing something. I look at a lot of portfolios as well as layouts and graphics
on a daily basis. I am not perfect, but I think this can be done better... what do you think?

The footer bar is a mid color gray and is another detraction from your layout. You can always spiff this up. Your footer is just as important too. Think about it.
If you are dressed to the nines to go clubbing, you do not want to wear ratty sneakers with that outfit, right?

Summary: You have a promising portfolio and obviously you have skill from looking at your screenshots of your works that you display. However, your portfolio
needs work. Of course, portfolios are not meant to be in detail, but you are hurting yourself by not including vital things like a little more information
on yourself, separate sections of your portfolio like the different services.

Other than that you only need to correct some minor CSS size issues as I have already mentioned.
