on 23rd Apr 2010 and said:Hey Cindy, you're my first review for quite a while so I might be a bit rusty, haha! First off, I've been visiting your site for a good while now, every now and then, so I've seen how it's changed from the past couple of designs. I particularly like this one (think it's the best yet!). You say in the description that you wanted to achieve a more graceful and elegant look with this layout, and I think you have achieved this extremely well, and that it is very flattering for your site. I love the bright blue, the browny / red and the gold colours together, they work wonderfully.
I really like your choices for typography, the mix of the big and bold, and the elegant and curvy... nice work :).
Your illustrations are excellent, I always think it's a really nice touch involving such personal things on layouts. I adore the layout picture, and the social media icons are also well in touch with the rest of the site, neat job there. Your footer, as well, is cool, and I really like the navigation links, they're very original. I also think the way the links on your blogroll change with refreshing the page is pretty cool too, nice thought.
Your about page is great, I love the way you've written it. (I am into that sort of thing! I'm an INFJ ^-^) I'm enjoying how positive your website is - as you say you're more of an optimistic person, and I love that in websites. It's nice to see the list of things you like (Harry Potter <3) and that you haven't included a list of things you don't; that just puts me off, but maybe that's just me. The photo on top makes the page, too. You're very pretty by the way!
The site page is great, nice to see a concise list of credits and it's cool to see such an extensive featured list! Good for you!! The only suggestion I'd have for this page was using capital letter at the start of the information in bold on the layouts section, e.g. Edition: III, Name: Subaquatic. Also, I've just noticed, on this page, the spacing between the links at the top go a bit funny, with a big space between the site and the art, and no spacing between the site and the girl. I dunno if maybe this is deliberate, but it looks a bit strange to me.
All I really have to say about your portfolio is that I'm jealous, completely, of your illustration skills! Haha. I'd suggest that it'd maybe be okay to put the images for the art sections on the work page on "the art" page, underneath the text, just to avoid a second clicking, but really it doesn't matter, and I suppose it's probably better that way when you're clicking ont he work link directly on the home page (so I'll shut up now, perhaps I should be ignored :P)
The contact page is fine, very clear and I like the fact you've listed places you can be reached. Again I'd suggest capitalising "e-mail" and "contact form"... maybe just me haha :).
Anyway that's all I really have to say... sorry it's a bit short, I'm just home from college and in need of some sleep ( whole weekend of it sounds good, lol) but I just felt like reviewing!
Love your site, will definitely be a frequent visitor now, after this!

Hey Susanna, I'm so sorry for responding so late, but nevertheless, thank you for taking the time to review the site! I'm glad that you liked it.
Also, good catch on the spacing on the About links -- I totally did not notice that and I've just fixed it!
And hooray for INFs! :) Thanks again!

First Glance--
Wow... That's the best way to describe this in word word. Your layout looks simplistic, very easy on the eyes, but in all seriousness, this layout must've taken some work. Lots of hand-drawn graphics to make it seem more... personal. I love the color scheme and the sort of vintage-retro-artistic look you've got going on. You must be /very/ eclectic. All in all, I love it. Awesome job.Navigation--
The navigation system you run on is a bit overused, but this is the internet, it's hard to be original with these millions of websites floating around and whatnot. In terms of functionality however, your navigational system works perfectly. The mini site map at the bottom of your layout makes everything really accessible. Great job on that!Content Quality & Variety--
I can already tell that your site isn't really point-on on offering content. I think it'd be safe to say that it's more of a personal site, so I'm not gonna be too harsh for this one. Overall, what you have to show and offer is pretty impressive. You're really quite talented, so A+ for this as well.Code--
Not only does the site look good, but everything behind the scenes is looking pretty well laid out also. Your code is pretty organized, and everything seems to be in place. Nothing too out of place here!Overall--
This is a very neat and interesting site. It's really homey, simple to get around, and as I said: interesting. It's great to hear about your worldly travels as you share them with the world, it's really fantastic and I'm sure it gets a lot of readers. Congratulations on this work of art, you deserve the five stars!Using Firefox on Windows | Report This?

I just want to say first off, my expectations of your site was highly exceeded. In fact, when I first opened your site, I thought that you seemed like somebody who knew what they were doing when building a web site. And somebody who I would definitely want to follow and continue to visit.
Your navigation is easy to find, and everything loads pretty quickly. What I also like about the navigation is that it is at the bottom. So if somebody wants to switch pages while scrolled to the very bottom, it's right there for them to access. And a plus is your creative use of the navigation. Instead of just the links of the navigation, you have little phrases to go with it. I especially like, "Home is where the [heart] is" and "The missing links."
The design of your site is well done. The layout and the colors. I especially love the colors and your use of fonts. I like the little hand-drawn images for your social links. Again, very creative with that :)
On your "about site" page, I like how you give information regarding each of your past layouts. I really enjoyed reading the descriptions and what inspired you for the layout. As well as reading the information about you. It definitely takes an effort to write out something that is interesting to read, and draws in the reader. And you really show that you put a lot of effort into every word written.
Your art is very creative, and I would definitely be a visitor that browses through every peace. I love how your drawings have a uniqueness to them. You definitely have your own style, which is a great thing to have!
Overall your site was well put together and presented. I would definitely be a returning visitor in the future. I enjoyed reading everything you had to say on your site, and that says a lot. I normally don't like to read a lot unless something strikes me about the site, or something about the person interests me enough to read what they have to say. So in my book, that's cookie points! :)

Hey Breanne, thanks kindly for taking the time to review my site; definitely appreciated! I'm really glad that you caught some of the details that I threw in there (i.e. the navigation phrases in the footer, the past layout descriptions). I was hoping somebody would notice those!
And yay cookie points -- consider me honored! :)
