One thing I did notice is that there's no list of tags/categories that I could see. So if I wanted to see all the tags you have used, I couldn't. I also had to look a bit for your post archive, which is at the bottom. I don't tend to scroll to the bottom of a webpage normally, unless I know there's something down there that I want, or if content goes down that far.
I like the clean colors, simple navigation, and good readability.

- The grey background is very dark and heavy, it makes your color combinations look more dull than they really are, and it isn't very comfortable to look at. A lighter, brighter grey would make your site pop more, and look much more inviting.
- The line height in the main text is very high. It's a general rule that your line height should be two pt's more than your font size. Like, if your font size is 10px, the line height should not be more than 12. When it's too high, the fields of text looks like just a huge, grey area og text, and makes it harder for focus on the reading. You could fit another sentece into the spaces between your lines!
- The line on the top could be a few pixels larger, so that it would look more intentional rather that something you notice after a while.
- The red links are very dark, I think the contrast to the blue would look much nicer if you took red color from the lighter part of the header color.
Now onto some things I love;
- The quote blocks are simply delicious! I love the way they look.
- The header is really pretty, the gradient makes it look exciting.
- The layout is very simple and clean, and very easy on the eye. It's also very organized, which is important.
Great work!

I like the colour scheme
I like the simplicity (I love minimal designs)
I like the top navigation--------------
Things I think could be improved:
-The green-blue bar at the very top of the page... I think it would look better if it was a bit thicker, and black.
-The icons you chose for the design, to me, do not fit in very well... They're too chunky and 'pro' looking compared to your colour scheme.
-The "where you are now" bar at the top is a good idea, but right now I feel like it looks weird. I would be tempted to get rid of it, and just have an underline or a small (overused, but still...) arrow pointing at the link that you're currently viewing...
-I thought the font for the main text could be (a teensy bit) larger. I think the size it is now is good for sidebars, but not so much for the main portion of the site.
-The footer, to me, is lacking padding. I feel like the stuff inside the bluegreen bar is too close to the edges and to their separators... And I feel like the © / nav at the bottom underneath are too close to the blue green bar. By a bit. Again, the icons look out of place, especially since they seem noticeably larger than the text that they're next to.
-Also, the colour of the dark text on the bar for the twitter seemed weird to me. I'd be tempted to put the whole twitter thing into an even lighter coloured background. Maybe a speech bubble or something. But still inside the same section. Just a section within a section Maybe a bird shouting out the speech bubble. Also: Strange that you have a bunch of different links at the bottom than the top. Recipes and Resources? There's no hint of these important links in the main navigation...
I'll skip over the fact that most of the navigation is broken right now anyway :-P

Re: Comment design... Still feel like more padding could exist between the comments and their border. The comment design overall feels very defaulty to me. I think it might be better if you got rid of the background and border and instead just set the ol.commentlist li { border-bottom:1px dashed #333; }
and that's it. And then maybe make the author info bolder and larger than their comment.
Also, the form, especially the input fields, seem very skinny and unstyled. (I mean, I know they're styled, but it's very solid looking and I think it would look better if they had more depth. And here's where I go out on a limb and say shamelessly, like the way this comment form looks
Not the images or the fanciness so much as the border. Top border is darker than the background, bottom border is lighter. Gives more depth.--------
About page:
"chasing down my children or doing household chore."
should be
"chasing down my children or doing household chores."" you can probably catch on the computer"
should be
" you can probably catch me on the computer""or talking shit on all of those around me."
...not even sure what that means :PI like constant practice better than consistent practice...
"sense of humor is strong an generally"
should be
"sense of humor is strong and generally"
-------
I also wouldn't mind a more in-depth archives page with a calendar with links to the days that are written on, and a tag cloud, etc. right now I can just click a month and then hit next/back through each entry, which can be tedious!Okeee!
That's it!
I hope you found some of my comments useful :-)

Theresa's Response:
You must have been viewing my site AS I was editing it, those footer links are now matching the header links and none of them should be broken. It' still odd because i had maintenance mode on. I understand what you mean about the styling of a lot of things in the design, I was torn as what to do with many of these things (such as the comments form and the footer) and will take your suggestions into consideration. Thank you for pointing out my grammatical errors as well. I don't notice many of them because when I sit and write I usually am trying to do other things as well (laundry and other household chores often call me out of my seat, even when my kids are in bed). And yes, you're shameless but your design is wonderful so I don't blame you. :P
