About Me: Hello, I'm Cindy, a 21-year-old engineering student with a not-so-secret love of the arts. Also, I have a not-so-secret love of trying new things. I like cilantro, Miyazaki films, rice pudding, German football, and good beer.

My reviews follow this format: Composition (layout, aesthetics, design), Content, Coding, Conclusion. These are in descending order of importance; I'm a very visual person, what can I say. And I like alliteration.

Likes:

- I like sites that establish an identity/personality. If you want to make an impression, I need to leave the site knowing who you are and what your site is about. Distinguish yourself in some way without resorting to an egotistical attitude. (This can be done through layout, content, etc.)

- First impressions are key. If at first glance, I don't see anything standing out, then I'll be more inclined to close the tab.

- I'm a total sucker for good aesthetics; I think spatially so naturally I put a lot of emphasis on the way you present things visually. I'm bad at explaining what a "good" color combination is, but chances are, if one person thinks that your colors are an eyesore, then there are a lot more people out there thinking the same thing. I like color palettes that don't have a billion "bright" colors competing against each other. Try colourlovers.com -- you'll find some great inspiration there!

- Clean design trumps busy designs, by far. However, there is a difference between clean design and boring design. I'm not a fan of the latter. It is definitely possible to have a sleek design that still has something that pops out.

- I love it when people go the extra mile with subtle details. That's an indicator that people really put the effort into making their site a polished package.

Dislikes:

- Bad attitude/rotten personality? You're not going to be attracting me to your site anytime soon. For me, this can completely cancel out a stunning layout.

- Can't take constructive criticism on this site? Also a major turnoff.

- iframes

- unnecessary scrollbars

- waaaaaay too many fonts

- lack of padding. It really bothers me when text is literally touching the margin.

I'll add more when I think of them. I can't exactly write down a bunch of things that annoy me without getting a headache.
